Kim Lieberman is a conceptual artist who honours the concept above medium. Lace, post, money: All are part of ancient or antique traditions. All attract human interest and are collectible. Kim Lieberman has re-established a different connection with these mediums; using them in a subversive context and shifting the content of how they read traditionally.

It should be noted that Lieberman does love the facts of their history, as it is this that brings the deep, secure and embedded concepts that they contain. This is what forms the base for the concepts of Lieberman’s works. Although sometimes diverging completely from their normal function, the respect for their primary systems remains.Lieberman completed her undergraduate degree at Wits Tech in 1997 and her MAFA at Wits University in 2001.
